Outdoors in winter can be one of the most captivating experiences, especially if you’re in the Canadian Rockies. As part of the U of Calgary’s outdoor program, we snowshoed the Baldy Mountain/Lusk Creek loop. Five hours of sun, crisp mountain air and breathtaking scenery (not a Starbucks within an hour’s drive from here). When you stop plowing through knee deep virgin snow, you can hear the deafening silence. Living in a city, I forgot how quiet it can be, deep in the mountains. We’ll be back soon.
