In the wake of the controversy over the killing of a chicken at the Alberta College of Art + Design this past semester, I think this article about scandalous or art in poor taste is appropriate. It’s always great to see art shock people and make them think of issues other than superficialities.

The NeoLucida is a great device that allows you to draw more accurately. It’s an old invention brought back to life by Pablo Garcia and Golan Levin. Existing versions of it costs hundreds of dollars, but Golan came up with a way to manufacture it for about thirty dollars. Illustrators, art students and even folks who can’t draw would find this device well worth the thirty dollars. You can find out more over at Fast Company.

Dr. Ted Acworth has developed a unique process for making beautiful mosaics with robots. He started the company Artaic to bring his process to life and manufacture tiled mosaics. The designs are incredible, but the illustrations are off the hook, especially the backlit ones. via Wired
