Thanks to Kris Koppel for this fun project. It was a spoof based on the Star Wars Poster from the seventies. The entire process was done in Corel Painter, from the rough through to the finished art. I’m really starting to like working digitally, you can really use a lot of techniques that just aren’t available traditionally.

I got this one from my analog archive, so I don’t know who wrote it or when. If you know, please let me know.

 

Once upon a time, in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.

He further announced that he would now buy at $20 for a monkey. (more…)
